WCGBR: President's Message
Greetings Members and Friends,
I am honored and excited to embark on this journey to serve this organization and its members as President for the year 2017. The Women’s Council of Greater Baton Rouge is a long-honored non-profit organization dedicated to connecting, promoting and empowering women. We have an exceptional legacy of service as our foundation as we continue to help build a better Baton Rouge community. Congratulations and welcome to our incoming Officers, Board of Directors and Committee Chairpersons. I look forward to working alongside them as we continue to fulfill the mission of the Women’s Council of Greater Baton Rouge.
I am inspired by our membership, with diverse skills and talents, which provide many volunteer hours annually across a wide range of community organizations. Our community is far better for the work that they do. We are proud to partner again this year with individuals, businesses and other non-profits that support the needs of women and children, the arts, health, education, the environment, and beyond. We have garnered much success through our community partnerships and collaborations.
The best way for us to be ambassadors and show our pride in our organization is to ask our friends and business associates to join us for one of our monthly membership lunch meetings. Held each second Thursday of the month, these meetings are currently designed to include networking and a tailored informative theme that combines professional or personal development related to our mission. I encourage each member to continue to invite guests to our meetings.
Also, I invite our membership and guests to visit our organization’s website frequently to learn more about the Women’s Council of Greater Baton Rouge and how you can get involved either through serving on a committee, attending meetings and special events such as our annual Silver Magnolia Tea, Tea for Two Meet and Greet, Women’s Week and Holiday Luncheon. In addition, please feel free to contact me or a member of our Board of Directors as we are always open to receiving your questions and feedback.
I look forward to being on this journey this year with all of you and I am proud to be part of the Women’s Council team, ready to serve and make our impact as women working together to help make Baton Rouge a better community by connecting, promoting and empowering women.
